About Lee

Helping law enforcement change for the better, from the inside

Lee is a Marine Corps veteran, serving over eight years as a Military Policeman and a Military Working Dog Handler specializing in explosive detection and combat tracking. While a dog handler, Lee supported several CONUS missions for the Secret Service and deployed with Combat Tracking Dog Rocky in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  During his military service, Lee was the Company trainer for the Marine Corps’ suicide prevention training, “Never leave a Marine behind.”  After his military service, Lee joined the Hillsboro Police Department where he currently works as a patrol officer and is on the department’s peer support team. Lee also earned his Bachelor’s and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from Pacific University.  Through his service in the military and now as a police officer, Lee has developed a passion for serving the veteran and responder communities.

Hillsboro Police Department- Patrol Officer

In addition to my regular patrol duties, Lee is also a member of Hillsboro Police Department Traumatic Response Support Team (TRUST),  the department's peer support team.  In May 2024 Lee will join the Washington County Mental Health Response Team.

Bridges to Change- Intern

Developed, implemented, and evaluated a five-week art therapy program that teaches communications skills, emotional intelligence (how to identify feelings), interpersonal skills, and personal budgeting tools for  justice involved people who also have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

United States Marine Corps - Military Police and Military Working Dog (MWD) Handler

Conducted and supervised the training of several “Never Leave a Marine Behind” classes, the Marine Corps’ suicide prevention training. Responsible for the training and certification of nine MWD teams and acted as Kennel Master in his absence. Supported five Secret Service missions in support of the POTUS, VPOTUS, and various other world leaders and one deployment with a Combat  Tracking Dog in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
